Scripture Sunday

"O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.
O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.
To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever.
To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever.
To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever.
To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever:
The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever:
The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever."
Psalm 136:1-9

Scripture Sunday

"...but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any."

Kids On Tuesday

This is a really fun, outdoor game for a large group of kids!

Scavenger Race

The point of the game is the first (or the first three, depending on how many kids you have) child to bring you what you call out gets a piece of candy or wins that round.
So have the children stand in a line.
Then, call out something the children cam find in the area you're in.
Like....

A clover
A flower
A rock

Or make it harder like...

A piece of trash

After you call one item out say "Go!"
Then all the kids go and look and the first to bring it to you wins!
Do this several times!  It's a great time filler!

Game Friday

I think this game sounds like a TON of fun!!!  I've been wanting to try it at a girls party but just haven't gotten the chance.  If any of you do it leave me a comment and tell me how it went!  :)

Nail Polish Spin

Place several colors of nail polish in the middle of a circle of girls.  Now, have the first girl spin a bottle of nail polish.  Who ever the cap is pointing to when it is done spinning must paint one of her fingernails that color.  Then that person spins the next color of nail polish .... and so on.  Paint your toes also to make the game last longer.

Recipe Thursday

Yum!  These would make a fun Tea Party recipe!  :)
Jordan
(New Hair Page above!!!)

~Cinnamon Chip Scones~
In a large bowl, mix these:
 3 1/4 c. AP Flour
1/3 c. sugar
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
Cut in until mixture resembles coarse crumbs:
3/4 c. cold butter
Add 1 c butter milk.
(Don't have any buttermilk? Add  1 TBS white vinegar of lemon juice to a glass of milk that is just under one cup. Let sit for five minutes, then use as you were going to.)
Stir in:
10 0z. bag of cinnamon flavored chips. (Available in the baking section- although our Walmart does not carry them. Also, 10 oz. is quite a bit. They were fine the first time, but if you add about a 2/3 cup instead of the 10 0z, they are much better.)
Put on a lightly floured surface and knead gently ten to twelve times or until dough is no longer sticky. Divide in half, roll each one into a seven inch circle, and in turn  divide each one into  six wedges. Seperate and put on a ungreaded baking sheet ( I used a stone!) Brush with melted butter and lightly sprinkle on some cinnamon sugar.
Bake at 425 for 10-13 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve warm.

Hairdo Wednesday

(New Giveaway on the Giveaway page that ends Sat.!  Make sure you take a peek!)

Here ya go Judy!  Wow!  I'm actually doing a hairdo!  Shocking right!  After how many weeks!   ;D
This is a fun humid-friendly hairdo that I'm doing a lot this summer!  I have very naturally curly/wavy hair so straightening it on humid days REALLY doesn't work!  ;)  I'm sure some of you can identify with me.
But this one is great cause it's really easy and the more humid it gets, the cuter it gets!  Hope it works for you too!

Roman Messy Bun

Here's what you'll need:
2 hair ties
bobby pins
gel
hair spray

Gel and scrunch your hair.
[For those of you who don't usually gel your hair here's what I do:
I don't brush or comb mine before I do this.  This is my hair naturally.  I washed it last night and just let it air dry.
Turn your head upside down.  Place about a dimes worth of curling gel in the palm of your hand, spread on both hands and scrunch your hair up.  Do this til all of your hair is scrunched with a light coating of gel.]

Part your hair over to one side...

Take the front section and separate into two parts.
Now pull the front section over the back section bringing the back section to the front.
Do this til you get it to the desired length.  I usually stop a little before it reaches my ear.

Then secure with bobby pins...

Next, pull the rest of your hair back in a pony tail.
(I wear it a lot like this too.)

Now, smush your hair up from the bottom to the top...

and rubber band it.

Now pull it til you can no longer see the rubber band.

Bobby pin in any loose ends and you are done!

Kids On Tuesday

Here is a game kids of all ages love!  Great for a class or 5 Day Club setting.

Balloon Says Game

You'll need:
Balloons
Little pieces of paper
Pen
And some hot air  ;D

Take your pieces of paper and write simple, fun commands.  Like:  Say the alphabet as fast as you can.  Jump up and down 3 times.  Give your neighbors a high five.  Run around the circle backwards.  Etc...
Then, blow up your balloons BUT BEFORE YOU TIE THEM OFF slip a piece of paper into each balloon.
Have the children sit in a circle.
Hand one balloon to a child and start singing.  Have the children pass the balloon around the circle as long as you are singing.  When you stop, the child holding the balloon pops the balloon and does the command inside.
Once done hand another balloon to another child to start and do the same thing til all the balloons are gone!

Game Friday

This looks like a REALLY fun game! Thanks for sending it in Tracy! :D
Jordan

Clue
This game is a combination of Clue, Charades, and Telephone.
A team of four people will leave the room and the people who are left
will pick out a person (Tigger, Cinderella, a pastor, etc.) a place
(the desert, a school bus, kindergarten, etc.) and a thing
(shoestring, refrigerator, etc.) Once the three things are decided
on one person gets called back into the room. He is told what the
three things are and gets to act them out to the second person. Once
the second person thinks he knows what the things are the third
person is called into the room and person two acts them out to person
three. (NO sound effects are allowed) Person three acts the things
out to person four and he gets to guess what the things are.
